Main modes of non-invasive respiratory support, used in respiratory insufficiency in prematural newborns

. Non-invasive ventilation of the lungs (NIVL) allows for adequate gas exchange, minimizing pulmonary and extrapulmonary complications. There are many NIV modes, the main ones being: nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP), nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) and nasal high frequency oscillatory ventilation (NHFOV). The purpose of the review is to consider the different modes of NIVL and assess their impact on neonatal mortality and morbidity.
